Vision

De La Salle University - Manila is an internationally recognized Catholic university established by the Brothers of the Christian Schools in 1911.

Inspired by the charism of St. John Baptist de La Salle, the University harmonizes faith and life with contemporary knowledge to nurture a community of distinguished and morally upright scholars who generate and propagate new knowledge for human development and social transformation.

As a resource of Church and Nation, the institution endeavors to form Lasallian Achievers for God and Country who will lead in building a just, peaceful, stable and progressive Filipino nation.

Mission

Guided by this Vision, the University will become a leading research university in Southeast Asia. With its corps of eminent faculty ably supported by visionary leaders and technology-enabled professional services, the institution will offer excellent multidisciplinary programs and build a community of learners and scholars who value the pursuit of new knowledge within the perspective of Christian ideals and values.

The School of Deaf Education and Applied Studies (SDEAS)molds productive leader-advocates determined to make themselves heard.


  • Bachelor in Applied Deaf Studies (BAPDST)
The Applied Deaf Studies program empowers Deaf young adults to become productive and active members of society. By developing your competitive skills and expertise, you will be given the confidence and competence to become gainfully employed and perform effectively in the workplace. You also contribute to society by educating industries to be more aware, understanding and accepting of the Deaf.

  • The Multimedia Arts track prepares you for careers related to graphic design and computer imaging. You will be trained in the following: web site design using Macromedia Flash and Dreamweaver; interactive design and authoring using Macromedia Director; videography; video editing using Adobe Premiere; photography; print design and pre-press production; and 2D/3D animation.

This track is for those who are interested in new media design and communications, and other fields using digital technologies.

  • The Business Entrepreneurship track prepares you to set-up, operate and manage small to medium level businesses. You will learn techniques in producing food and non-food products. You will also develop competencies in the areas of bookkeeping, accounting, and office management. It also equips you with computer application knowledge to improve business operation processes.
This track is for those who want to start their own business.


The School of Design and Arts (SDA) channels creative juices into wonderful art works or performances.
  • Bachelor of Arts in Animation (ABANI)
The Animation program strikes a balance between commercial and fine art animation. It is a comprehensive program that focuses on three areas: 2D, 3D and experimental animation, and will train you in developing original Filipino content. It is the first program of its kind in the country.

  • Bachelor of Arts in Arts Management (ABAM)
The Arts Management program allows you to become proficient in art history, theory, and criticism as well as cultural programming and its resources, while learning design and arts management techniques and technologies.

  • Bachelor of Arts in Digital Filmmaking (ABDFILM)
The Digital Filmmaking Program takes the time-honored techniques and traditions of motion picture production, combines it with modern digital technology, and endeavors to create the cinema of the future. Students will undergo training in the art and craft of filmmaking, as well as gain instruction in the business aspects of the film industry such as production management, marketing and festival organization, among others.

This curriculum of technical, theoretical, artistic and creative courses encourages students to work in an established film industry, establish their own production studio, create independent features and documentaries, or develop content for non-cinematic medium such as television, corporate communications, new media, and the internet.

  • Bachelor of Arts in Multimedia Arts (ABMMA)
The Multimedia Arts program combines evolving areas such as digital media and the Internet with core skills such as communications, programming, and graphic design. You harness the power of the latest digital media technology. It is the first program of its kind in the country.

  • Bachelor of Arts in Music Production (ABMP)
The Music Production program focuses on the use of technology in the field of music. The program aims to elevate the fields of video and music scoring, jingle and commercial music writing, and popular composition/arrangement for local and international audiences and markets. It is the first program of its kind in the country.

  • Bachelor of Arts in Photography (ABPHOTO)
The Photography program establishes photography as a fine art and as a viable creative industry that keeps up with global standards in communication and information design and technology and is used as a medium for social change. It focuses on aesthetics and the development of creative photography skills, professional and business practices, and promoting ethical practices in the field. It is the first program of its kind in the country.

  • Bachelor of Arts in Production Design (ABPRD)
The Production Design program develops your skills and interests in designing sets, costumes and props for movies, commercials, television, theater, events and advertising. Studies in theoretical exercises are offered together with studio classes in drawing, drafting, computer-aided drafting and design, stagecraft, props-making, prosthetics, costume construction and other related practical skills.

  • Bachelor of Arts in Technical Theater (ABTHR)
The Technical Theater program develops your knowledge and expertise in the technical requirements of theater, events, concerts and other live performances—from designing lights, manipulating sound, and overseeing and enhancing the technical aspects of a concert or stage production.

  • Bachelor of Arts major in Fashion Design and Merchandising (AB-FDM)
The Fashion Design and Merchandising program focuses on design development and philosophies, as well as production and marketing procedures, with the fashion business at the core.

  • Bachelor in Performing Arts major in Dance (BPA-D)
The Dance program is designed to transform dance into an expressive art form and a profession. It is offered in consortium with the Ballet Philippines-Cultural Center of the Philippines Dance School.

  • Bachelor of Science in Industrial Design (BS-ID)
The Industrial Design program trains you to design products that would make the everyday lives of people easier and fun. The program develops your design skills with practical aspects of ergonomics, function, marketing, manufacturing, and aesthetics as well as business concepts like entrepreneurship and management.
  • Bachelor of Science in Interior Design (BS-InD)
The Interior Design program develops the mastery of interior space planning, as well as specifying interior elements, such as finishes and furnishings, that would lead to creating aesthetic and functional spaces. It is offered in consortium with the Philippine School of Interior Design (PSID).

  • Bachelor of Science in Architecture (BS-ARCH)
The Architecture program trains you by combining a cross-disciplinary approach to art, design and the humanities with emphasis on computer based design programs, business studies and contemporary urban studies.



The School of Hotel, Restaurant and Institution Management (SHRIM) never fails to teach young hoteliers, chefs and travel managers that the gold mark in service is consistent high standards.

  • Bachelor of Science in Hotel, Restaurant and Institution Management (BS-HRIM)
The Hotel, Restaurant and Institution Management program integrates theory and practice to provide you with a strong management and service orientation as well as a global perspective of hotel and restaurant operations.

Students may choose from among the following fields of specialization:

The Culinary Arts track nurtures your passion for food and its preparation. You will learn to work in a professional kitchen using the latest tools and equipment to prepare various ingredients while observing sanitation, safety, and hygiene. You will also learn butchery, fish-mongery, and international cuisine along with financial management, entrepreneurship, franchising, and small business management.

The Hospitality track prepares you for a career in hospitality services of lodging and dining. You will learn to be aware and alert about the minutest details in managing and operating hotels and restaurants. You will learn the skills and customer-oriented attitudes expected of a professional hotelier or restaurateur, but also the business side of running a restaurant or hotel.

The Tourism track prepares you to be a competitive player in the tourism industry. You will learn to serve the travel needs of different clients and direct them to places around the country and even the world. Aside from travel and tourism courses, you will also take management and basic accounting courses along with a foreign language and a personality development course.


  • International Hospitality Management (BS-IHM)
The International Hospitality Management program is our international double-degree program made possible through our partnership with Institut Vatel (France). The focus of the program is Hotel Management through enhanced integration of theory and practice with a global management perspective.


  • Associate Degree in Culinary Arts (ADiCA)
The ADiCA program is offered in consortium with the Center for Asian Culinary Studies. Designed and handled by seasoned chefs and industry practitioners, the twelve-month program is designed to develop you into a culinary artist or caterer putting up your own food service establishment.



The School of Management and Information Technology (SMIT)is in the business of training citizens and decision-makers of a high-tech world.


  • Bachelor of Science in Business Administration major in Computer Applications (BSBA-CA)
The Computer Applications program develops IT professionals who have a clear understanding of how businesses work. It hones your business management skills for different industries as well as provides you with relevant and up-to-date IT courses. Your exposure to practical business problem-solving methods with the use of information systems and technology tools will enable you to better understand, propose, and implement IT solutions that are best suited for an organization’s needs.


  • Bachelor of Science in Business Administration major in Export Management (BSBA-EM)
This Export Management program is the pioneer export-oriented business program in the Philippines. By teaching you entrepreneurial skills that focus on the export of locally manufactured products and services, you become part of the country’s socio-economic development. Training includes exposure to the dynamic relationship of economics and trade, international market research, international marketing, product management, product design and development, and financial management.


  • Bachelor of Science in Business Administration major in Human Resource Management (BSBA-HRM)
The Human Resource Management program is an innovation as it incorporates industrial psychology with business management. It is the first such program in the field of human resource management in the Philippines. Your basic management concepts will provide a deep understanding of the industry’s needs in relation to managing human resources.


  • Bachelor of Science in Information Systems (BS-IS)
The Information Systems program aims to develop IT professionals who have sound technical knowledge of computers, communications, and software, as well as in-depth knowledge of an organization’s various business functions. You will learn how IT impacts the overall performance of organizations and learn to propose, design, develop, and implement different IT-enabled solutions to improve business operations.

For mature students who are highly motivated to complete their college education while working, SMIT has the Career Development Program (CDP), which is a night program. It currently offers the following degree programs:


  • Bachelor of Science in Business Administration major in Business Management (BSBA-BM)
The Business Management program focuses on core business functions. You learn finance, marketing, strategy, operations, human resources and information systems. The curriculum emphasizes computer skills and the application of information technology, teamwork, problem-solving and critical thinking for decision-making.


  • Bachelor of Science in Business Administration major in Marketing Management (BSBA-MM)
The Marketing Management program focuses on the process of planning and executing the concept, pricing, promotion, and distribution of ideas, goods and services to create exchanges that satisfy individual and organizational objectives. The marketing field includes new product development, pricing, competitor analysis, market research, business development, advertising and public relations, retailing and sales, and entrepreneurship.


  • Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BS-IT) with Specialization in Game Design and Development
The Information Technology program is focused on developing original content through its IT and animation-related game development disciplines such as video game programming, game art and animation, game design and game production. It is the first program of its kind in the country.



International relations and concerns of the global village are the territories of the Consular and Diplomatic Affairs program of theSchool of Multidisciplinary Studies (SMS).

  • Bachelor of Arts in Consular and Diplomatic Affairs (AB-CDA)
The Consular and Diplomatic Affairs program develops practitioners in international relations, professionals whose career paths lead to consular and diplomatic posts. You will learn the protocols of addressing heads of states, study the history of foreign relations of the Philippines and other countries, and understand real-world positions on specific international issues. You will be exposed to the elements of a career in diplomatic affairs early on with on-the-job training in embassies, the Department of Foreign Affairs, local United Nations agencies and Philippine government agencies. You are likewise given the opportunity to learn a foreign language: a choice of Japanese, Spanish or French, and travel.
